Family!
Wow what a week! It's been so rewarding and the sun is shining
here in England! It has been so warm!
Sister Chantry has been great, we have had lots of fun already
and our area is doing great! We have enjoyed running/walking through this
gorgeous park and getting breakfast sandwiches on our way back home, staying up
late talking, meeting lots of new people, and getting lost because we are both
new to this area. Our first day together we went to try by this referral but
she wasn't in, so we talked to some of her neighbours who were outside. A young
couple who are looking for more direction in their lives! And then they told us
to go down the street and try by their neighbour. So we went and talked to this
young mom and she said we could come back! We went back the next day to teach
her and were able to set a baptism date with her! She was so excited to hear more
and said this is exactly what she is looking for. I know Heavenly Father guides
us to people who are prepared.
Other good things:
We were able to get back in contact with our friend who is 12
and his mom! His mom is a less active member and we are teaching her son. He is
getting baptised on July 1st! And he is so excited. I love teaching him and I
feel so much love for both of them.
The best part of my week, by far was watching someone I love so
much be baptised! Ah, I taught her in Billingham and was able to go! When I met
her I instantly felt connected to her like I knew her before. She has been
working towards baptism for so long so it was such a special night. I am so
happy for her!
Some members had a BBQ on Saturday and they invited so many non
members and less active members, it was a good experience and good to talk to
them. Hopefully planting seeds for later down the road when they meet
missionaries again.
We had interviews with president and sister turvey which are
always a treat. I will miss
them so much!!
Roasted marshmallows and ate Costco hotdogs during ward
coordination :) #bestwardmissionleader
Today we went to Durham with a bunch of missionaries including
Elder Norton :) it was so beautiful and so fun! Cutest little town, like what I
imagined all of England to look like...lol. We got to see this cathedral where
part of Harry Potter was filmed. I just kept looking at Cayd and thinking, is
this real life? And is it real that we are literally on the same flight home?
And is it real that I only have 2 more months of being a missionary in England?
Ah so bittersweet. I am truly so grateful for this experience and I am so
excited to keep going and to push a little harder to finish strong!
Hope you all have a great week!
