WOW is all I can say. I LOVE being a
missionary and I LOVE serving in Hull 1! It truly is the promised land. So many
people who are prepared for the gospel are here!!
Monday night we said goodbye to some of
my favs in Leeds that will be missed. So many people I have been able to serve
with and learn from.
I took my train to Hull early the next
morning and met my new comp Sister Mokgehle (sister mo) from South Africa! She
is very easy going and we get along great :) It is almost too easy to be with
her hah, but I am very grateful. She is a great missionary and works really
hard. It is going to be a great transfer together! My first day was pretty
crazy trying to get all the sisters where they need to be but it was an
adventure :)
I feel so excited to start fresh and
really work towards being the missionary I want to be. I feel like the last
couple weeks I have let things get in the way of my purpose as a missionary.
But I am here to serve the Lord and help others come closer to Christ.
Highlights-
I get to serve with one of my all time
fav missionaries who I lived with in Leeds, Sister Blair! She is such a light
to have and has helped me so much while I have been on my mission. She is
serving with a new sister, and all 4 of us live together.
Tuesday night the missionaries and the ward
missionaries got together for our weekly meeting at the missionary house in
Hull (such a blessing). We also have a senior couple who get to come to our
district meetings! The ward missionaries amaze me! They are all so involved
with all of our investigators. And I can tell they really want to help them and
us.
We have the most amazing investigator
named L... She has gone through some really difficult times in the past but has
always believed in God. The sisters met her on the bus about 2 weeks ago and she
is getting baptized on September 2 with two other girls who the other sisters
are teaching! They are all the most prepared people ever! They are what we call
Golden Investigators. L… texted us the other day saying she wrote an essay on
the Word of Wisdom and a summary on what she had read in the Book of Mormon!
She loves the restored gospel so much and is sent straight from God. I feel so
honored to be teaching her. The lessons we have with her are the most spiritual
I have experienced on my mission.
Another investigator named A.. from
Poland who is a former investigator. We decided to stop by her house one
evening and she let us in! The other sisters had given her a childrens Book of
Mormon and she said she had been reading it to her son! We taught her and she
wants to keep meeting with us. We scheduled her for baptism because she says
when she meets with us she feels a light :)
Well, lets just say, trials and
challenges don't last forever. Heavenly Father will always bless us if we stay
strong. I'm not saying I won't have other hard days, I'm sure there will be
plenty. But I know there are always good times ahead. Elder Holland said,
"Some blessings come soon, some come late, and some don't come until
heaven; but for those who embrace the gospel of Jesus Christ, they come."
I am so grateful for the gospel and to
see how it changes peoples lives. I am so thankful to have the help of Heavenly
Father and Jesus Christ because this is truly their work. I just get to see it
happen and I feel pretty lucky. I know Heavenly Father knows each and everyone
of us individually and knows each of our situations. He knows exactly what we
need and when we need it.
Know I love and miss you all and that I
am HAPPY :)
